Font identity is not guaranteed as many samples may actually be custom lettering or custom fonts, however our font identification specialist will work to generate the closest match to the sample provided. Fonts.com visitors are also welcome to identify typefaces themselves using our free online Search by Sight tool.
The Requirements are as follows:
A sample is required for identification. Fonts.com is pleased to offer over 100,000 fonts to our customers. Due to inventory size, we are unable to visually match font identification requests based on description alone.
How does it work?
Samples are accepted via email, fax, or hyperlinks to specific web pages. Samples must contain at least 5 characters and be legible. Emailed requests should be sent to info@fonts.com. Please ensure that the subject line states: Attention: Font ID Specialist. Fax requests can be sent to 781-970-6002. Please ensure that all requests include contact information so that our specialist can provide results in a timely manner.
How long does it take?
Due to the volatility of the font identification process, turnaround times are subject to change. The standard turnaround time for identification is between 48 and 72 hours. Rush identification is available for a premium fee.
How much does it cost?
Typically, our font identification service is provided to our customers free of charge. Requests required within 24 hours are subject to a $25.00 administration fee.
How will I receive the results?
The font identification specialist will contact you via e-mail, or phone to provide your results. Email communication is preferred as this allows the specialist to provide the customer with a direct link to the font data required.
