Aviation Partners (AVP) was founded as a presentation design company in London UK in the 1980s. Digital font creation started as a supporting service but has gradually become a core, almost obsessive activity. Designer Nicholas Garner says that the purpose is to have fun creating everyday fonts that he and his colleagues will want to use, fonts that lend an edge to their print, web and display designs.

Font Garden has been online since 1999 and made fonts since 2001. Font Garden is a one person foundry and all fonts are hand drawn by its founder, Ellinor Rap, or their customers and friends. Studiocharlie works in product design, graphics, type design and video. They are sometimes developed from signs and letters linked to our graphic and comunication projects (for ex. FontFoliae, Stereotype, Gattofont), whilst others are the object of specific research. In general we develop fonts for traditional typographic use like word processing (for ex. Superbastone or Csuni, which received a special commendation for the 20th edition of the Compasso d'Oro ADI Prize), or more "playful" fonts, for titles, logos and contemporary graphics (for ex. Cavillus, Carpenteria), and dingbat fonts (Gattofont, Catacumbes, Charlie Dog, FontFoliae). Three people founded Studiocharlie in 2002, and work on the development of all the team's projects: Gabriele Rigamonti, Carla Scorda, Vittorio Turla.

Comicraft was founded by Richard Starkings and John Roshell. They are credited with pioneering digital lettering in the comic book industry. Today, Comicraft’s lettering methods and processes are now the widely accepted industry standard. Some of the Comicraft studio’s clients include; DARK HORSE COMICS, MARVEL COMICS, MAD MAGAZINE, NICKELODEON and NBC to name a few. The Comicraft foundry’s fonts have been featured in millions of comic books and magazines, and also featured in high profile movies including TOY STORY 2 and SKY HIGH.

The TypeArt Foundry, Inc. has been creating fonts for over 15 years. Graphic designer Lloyd Springer decided to create a series of cool, interesting typefaces which he hoped would appeal to his graphic design peers in the advertising and publishing world. His wanted to create a expansive collection of exciting designs which would cover a wide range of styles, so that the collection would have something suitable for any kind of layout project. The TypeArt Library contains a wide variety of fonts including: grunge, comic book, scripts and decorative faces, plus some more traditional serif and sans serif designs.

Scholtz FontsScholtz Fonts

Scholtz Fonts, started by Anton Scholtz in 1997, specializes in "African flavor" fonts. The foundry is based in Durban, South Africa, where the Zulu culture of the region has greatly influenced the font design. As a graphic designer, he became aware of how few available fonts were suitable for African inspired design. It was to meet this lack that he initially started work in typography. His wife, Merle Scholtz, has long worked in the field of African patterns and they have collaborated in producing the most extensive font-based collections of African patterns. He has since branched into the genres of art deco and grunge fonts.
