Foundry Release mur December 2008
mur is a design collective whose members have backgrounds in fine art, graffiti, graphic design, web design, illustration, and architecture. Despite these diverse backgrounds, everyone at mur shares a love for authentic and unique typography. Most of the mur typefaces evolved out of projects that call for fonts, but something new and unique – a font that only exists in heads of the mur collective. With a complete disregard for time, money, and personal health, they go to work and develop fonts that they would want to buy and use themselves.

Foundry Release Type Together October 2008
Veronika Burian and José Scaglione joined forces in 2006 creating an independent type foundry - TypeTogether. It developed out of their desire to publish high quality typefaces and to collaborate on new type projects – hence the name. The quality of their work has been recognized in several international competitions, including Type Director Club (TDC) and European Design (ED) Awards.

Tim Ahrens has studied architecture at the University of Karlsruhe and Typeface Design in Reading. He works as a type designer and architect. In 2000 Linotype published his sans serif text face Aroma. In 2005 he founded Just Another Foundry, which distributes his display faces Mashine and Zalamander, the sans serif Facit and Lapture, a revival and redesign of Albert Kapr’s Leipziger Antiqua.

Jim Lebbad is a graphic designer specializing in typographic design and handlettering. He has created award-winning designs for domestic and international clients including Arista Records, Nickelodeon, Campbell Soup Company and Simon & Schuster Publishing, to name a few. Upon graduating from Kutztown University, Jim headed straight to New York where he started his career at New American Library as a book cover designer. While at NAL, Jim's handlettering skills won awards from the Type Directors Club. He then moved on to Berkley Putnam Publishing where he was named Art Director. While there, his art direction on numerous covers won awards from the Society of Illustrators. Jim created Lebbad Design in 1981 and continues creating work for a variety of clients both large and small.

Foundry Release The Northern Block March 2008
Jonathan Hill graduated from Newcastle College of Art & Design in 1994. He initially worked in print producing event graphics for the Leadmill in Sheffield. Jonathan joined Mainartery in 1999; a progressive design studio based in London working solely for the music industry. Over a 3-year period Jonathan produced a range of unique packaging that crossed boundaries between 2D and 3D media. Clients include R02, Universal Music, EMI and Azuli Records. In January 2006 he set up his own studio under the banner The Northern Block to concentrate on the development of new and original typefaces.
