Fontschmiede is the German foundry of the font-designers Michel M and Frank Baranowski. Michel has been an illustrating artist and graphic designer since the mid-1990s, publishing fonts at URW++ and Linotype. Frank, a graphic designer since 1990 had his first fonts published by Elsner+Flake, URW++ and Letraset. Fontschmiede’s goal is to distribute quality fonts with a certain extraordinary look: “We think, there is at least one occasion for a special font.”
