The Felbridge™ family has many uses and few limitations. It’s proven itself in diverse settings, from text copy, display headlines and logotypes, to Web pages and corporate identity. Now, new italic designs make Felbridge an even more robust graphic communicator.

“The design grew out of my experiments to develop an ideal typeface for use in Web design and electronic media,” comments Robin Nicholas, the family’s designer. “I wanted a straightforward sans serif with strong, clear letterforms that wouldn’t degrade in low-resolution environments.” These characteristics also make for a design that performs extremely well in traditional print applications.

Felbridge was first released in 2003 as a family of four roman weights (light, regular, bold and extra bold) with complementary italics for the regular and bold designs. Later, Nicholas drew two additional roman weights (thin and black), plus an italic counterpart to the existing light weight. Now, Nicholas has drawn italics for the thin, extra bold and black designs, completing the family of six weights – each with a companion italic.

As a branding typeface, Felbridge works in all environments, from traditional hardcopy materials to mobile devices. It is even suitable for correspondence and other office communications. As part of a corporate identity, this highly utilitarian typeface family will communicate distinctively and effectively.
