Using Masterfont Hebrew fonts

Please note: Hebrew fonts require right to left support both by the system and the application.

System Requirements and font formats – Macintosh

Recommended operating systems:

  • MacOS X 10.3 and above with Hebrew language support enabled.

Supported Macintosh applications

  • Adobe ME (Middle East) products:
  • Adobe InDesign CS2 ME+
  • Adobe Photoshop CS2 ME+
  • Adobe Illustrator CS2 ME+
  • Adobe Flash CS5 ME
  • Mellel 2+
  • Nisus Writer

Macintosh fonts formats - OpenType Standard and OpenType Pro

OpenType Standard fonts

  • Full Hebrew and Latin character set
  • Cross platform compatibility (Macintosh OSX, Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7)
  • Naming: [Fontname]MF - same name as the old PS version for easy replacement.

OpenType Standard fonts do not support Nikud (vowels) or any Open Type features.

OpenType Pro fonts

  • Full Hebrew and Latin character set
  • Cross platform compatibility (Macintosh OSX, Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7)
  • Precise Nikud (vowels) positioning
  • Alternate glyphs
  • Hebrew kerning
  • Proportional figures
  • Naming: MF [Fontname] - new name, new features.

These fonts are supported only by Adobe CS2 ME applications and above

OpenType Pro with Ta'amim MFT
(Cantilation Marks)

Intelligent Open Type Pro fonts with Ta'amim (Cantilation Marks). Beautifully placed along with precise Nikud (vowels) positioning on each glyph.

These fonts are supported only by Adobe CS4 ME applications and above

System Requirements and font formats – Windows

Recommended operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and later (any language version), with Hebrew language support enabled (included in the system but must be enabled)

Supported Windows applications

  • Microsoft Office applications (2003 and later)
  • Adobe ME (Middle East) products:
  • Adobe InDesign CS2 ME+
  • Adobe Photoshop CS2 ME+
  • Adobe Illustrator CS2 ME+
  • Adobe Flash CS5 ME
  • CorelDRAW 14+ (Hebrew version)

If your software is not listed, please contact the software's vendor and ask about Hebrew support.

Windows fonts formats - TrueType, Open Type Standard, Open Type Pro.
