Yu Mincho 5go Kana is a classical kana typeface family intended to be combined with Yu Mincho kanji. Its design was based on a masterpiece 5 go (roughly 10.5 points, typical text type size) metal font designed in Meiji period (1868–1912) which is still used today. Consisting of soft strokes and handsome letterforms, also slightly bigger than Yu Mincho default kana, it creates less letter spaces which make it useful for display use as well.
