The Blythe™typeface family is a contemporary handwriting style with special verve. Its dramatic ascenders and descenders give the design a panache and individuality that can make it the ideal choice for such personal uses as wedding stationery and greeting cards. If your next project needs a little extra flourish, this could be just the design to use.
Blythe History
Created by South African-based graphic designer Anton Schultz in 2009 for in-house use in his foundry, Blythe is one of hundreds of typefaces Schultz has designed over the years. The family is available in five styles: Blythe, a lighter version called Blythe Spirit, a bolder font style called Blythe Sable in addition to Blythe Mono35 and Blythe Mono45—two monoweight designs.
Blythe Usage
Due to the dramatic design of the ascenders and descenders on such letters as the f, g, h and j, additional linespace is required to keep letters from overlapping; alternately, linespace can be kept tight allowing the graceful ascenders and descenders to create a delightful texture.
