The Empirical project is the result of more than four years of hard work. The final designs met my requirement of a ""simple sans serif ""avec"" serifs ¿ or ""with"" serifs with an emphasis on text usage but at home in display sizes too. The italics maintain that look together with a mix of geometric simplicity and cursiveness. An extensive suite of ligatures eliminates hairline gaps that appear at display sizes.
