Sakkal Majalla is a family of Arabic typefaces based on Naskh calligraphy, the style of choice for typesetting many languages that use the Arabic Script. it benefits from the compact proportions and wide counters of contemporary typefaces, and solves many alternate letter shape challenges by taking advantage of OpenType technology to provide fine typography that is more responsive to the context of the letters and the most appropriate shapes for the different letter combinations. Sakkal Majalla was designed by Mamoun Sakkal, Sakkal Design in 2005. The latin was designed by Steve Matteson. Sakkal Majalla supports Arabic, Persion, Urdu, Sindhi, Kurdish and Uighur.
