Accord Alternate is a companion of Accord which comes with some modification in the lowercase of Accord character set. The details which are not visible in the small size text generally in the screen have been eliminated in the Accord Alternate, which gives the type a contemporary san serif look. Eliminating the details which are not visible at small size in screen, increases the size of letterform's counters which result in increased readability and gives contemporary look.

The main difference between Accord Alt and Accord is in the way curved strokes join with vertical stems in letters such as “bpn”.
