When the German city of Backnang asked Hellmut G. Bomm to draw the letterings 'Markgrafenhof' and 'Stiftshof' in the historical style of the street signs from the middle of the last century, he so liked what he had drawn that he consequently developed two complete font weights (regular and bold) from it. He named the typeface Schillerplatz. Both fonts are true representations of street signs – unquestionably beautiful.
